- Glourious Chopai's from Bal Khand & Uttar Khand - This was the main subject In Manas Karuna Morari Bapu. I can not go without mentioning about this Katha. The whole Katha Subject was about "Compassion" . Compassion is not talking about helping others. It is actually putting words into Action. Anyone who donates for the Akshaya Patra will definitely be showing their compassion to the Children out there who need it most.
Akshaya Patra started their operation by feeding 1500 children in
five schools of Bangalore now it has scaled up to 1.3 million children
through 19 centres across 9 states of India. This is done through
centralized and decentralized model of kitchens. Through centralized
kitchen it feeds the children of urban and semi urban areas on the other
hand decentralized kitchen is meant for the interior areas which have
difficult terrain. Endeavour of Akshaya Patra enables the education to
reach many and to the far flung areas.
Gullu, a child from tribal area of Orissa got attracted to school
just because of food. Now he walks five miles per day and attends the
school. There are many such stories where parents allowed their children
to join school because of Akshaya Patra’s mid day meal.
All this good work has been possible
with the collective effort of many. Let this continue and with more
vigour so that Akshaya Patra can feed many more children and support in
building the future of India.
Akshaya Patra started its journey of
feeding school children with 1500 children. It is said that a tree of
good intention is fast laden with fruits. Though beginning with a humble
number, we have been able to achieve vast extension of our reach. We
are feeding 1.3 million children in 19 locations spread across 9 states.
Akshaya Patra is not only removing hunger but promoting education and
taking the children to the path of happiness and growth.
The one wholesome, hot nutritious meal served had miraculous impact.
Impact study done by A.C Nielson on Akshaya Patra’s work came out with the following results-
• Increase in school attendance
• Socialisation among children
• Empowerment of local women
• Improvement in nutritional status
• Increase in enrolment by 28%
• Decrease in drop-out rate by 8%
We
were able to reach all these milestones with the help received from
Government, individual donors and corporates. The Akshaya Patra
Foundation is a unique Public Private Partnership (PPP) where the
Government is a major stakeholder. The Government of India, along with
various State Governments, provides subsidies in the form of cash and
grain grants.
At the same time generous donations from
individuals, corporate and public sector units have also played an
important role in providing a nutritious, balanced meal for the
children. Our donors had been substantial to sustain and expand our
program. We express our gratitude to them. We could not have achieved it
without their support
We have been able to feed 1.3 million
children, but we have long way to go to fulfil our mission of feeding 5
million children by 2020. For this we need to expand and increase the
number of kitchen at the same time we need funds for incurring the
running cost of our existing kitchen. We expect you to support us with
the same zeal to expand the horizon of our reach to hungry children.
You have been the cause of bringing smiles to 1.3 million faces; we seek your support to spread it to 5 million.
Today 28th April 2013 All roads 2 - 3 miles around my work were closed because of Manchester Marathon. The Manchester Marathon started right outside Manchester Utd Football Ground. I had to pull my Bike out and get to work instead of using the car. On my way to work , i stopped by Man Utd Ground, which is round the corner. In my 1st photo you can see Rsp Lt Sir Matt Busby in the background. 2nd photo shows people gathering for beginning of the Marathon. The Atmosphere was great. People were excited. The Radio Station guys were blaring out music. Some people had makeup on their faces. The 3rd photo "Leading from The Front " >>>> and thats what Akshaya Patra is doing for the Children. Filling in an important Gap In Society. Love & Compassion ....
This
is a submission from Rac*s (my work place) behalf, in the weekly Rac
Intranet Website advising about our A Smile for Million Children 250
Mile plus Bike Ride . Many thanks for Rac*s support
Amongst all Bike Rider*s we have completed 129 miles. Let Alone i have a big 179 miles to go. A long journey ahead, but i look forward very much. The others are working their way forward too. Completing my 250 miles will definetely bring the total to much more miles. This is just a drop in the ocean type thing, but its worth it every bit. Every mile we all complete will truly be a blessing. The more we do , its an extra parikrama of Kailas.!! Har Har Mahadev !!!
Support is coming from different angles, and on Hanuman Jayanti Day, i received an email from a friend who added this lovely picture of Morari Bapu with my link https://www.justgiving.com/asmileformillionsofchildren-akshayapatra-250plusbikeride-2013 and with all my Bike Ride Details. They shared my details with many other of their friends. It is encouraging to find someone who supports a untouchable cause. It gives me and my team encouragement to go on and continue and make a change in the blessings of our Bharat Mata , Bhagvan, Sadguru, Sants, Holy Scriptures.
II Satya Prem Karuna II II Truth Love Compassion II It is
Undeniable Point to make , and it goes without saying, it is the Supreme
Lord who is the giver of food and education. AkshayaPatra is like the
hands of God, where a huge surmountable workload is being carried out to
provide to these children who have come through a tough background of
malnutrition, and where there is no hope of a future.
AkshayaPatra provides hope by providing food for 1.3 million school children across 9 States and 19 locations.
With over 13.5 million malnourished children India must work
tirelessly to improve the quality of life for its population for
generations to come. The Akshaya Patra Foundation believes that only through education can they achieve this.
Akshaya Patra are therefore aiming to reach 5 million children by the
year 2020, helping them get an education and improve the quality of
life of a family for generations to come. Only by eradicating hunger can
we promote education! I would like to reinterate again this year, that i
would like to help The Akshaya Patra achieve their mission through my
Smile For Millions of Children 250 Mile Plus Bike Ride. Last year we all raised over £4000.00 http://www.justgiving.com/asmileformillionsofchildren-akshaypatra-swim-111/. Our donation has enabled to feed ((Govt Upper
Primary)) School of 985 children. This school is located in Rajasthan.
The school sponsorship started on 2nd July 2012, and this ends June
2013. On August 5, 2012, The Akshaya Patra Foundation celebrated
serving of its billionth meal. The celebration took place in Bangalore.
The highlight of the event was the announcement that Shankar Mahadevan
will henceforth be the Goodwill Ambassador for Akshaya Patra and spread
its message across the world. Shankar Mahadevan and the well known
lyricist Javed Akhtar had composed a beautiful anthem, for the
organisation, which was debuted at the event. In March 2013 The Sparkle Ballwas a
star-studded success and raised an incredible £300,000. The Akshaya
Patra Foundation had the honour of welcoming Bollywood legends Waheeda
Rehman, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi who spoke in support of the
charity.
As you can see, there are many famous people who are supporting this
Foundation. It is evident there is this constant effort to make sure
that the children in India have a future to look forward to. A Smile for Million of Kids 250 miles Plus Bike Ride for The Akshaya Patra 2013. Abhishek, myself, will attempt to do a 250 mile bike ride. We officially started the Bike ride on 5th April 2013. The additional bike ride members are

will confirm the number of miles they will do in due course. We will have until 31st July 2013 to complete our 250 Mile Plus Bike Ride.
Instead of doing the whole 250 miles in 1 go, which is definetley out
of my physical stamina to do so, i will do 10 miles on my rest days. I
will schedule 25 days when i can do 10 miles each time. This will total
up to 250 miles.
I strongly believe that charity donation starts from myself
and, no doubt other family members will donate too. Please support us
all in our 250 Mile Plus Bike Ride for Akshaya Patra. We can make a difference together. I
will also appeal to anyone else to do a Bike Ride to collate money for
The AkshayaPatra Foundation. Please contact me , if you would like to
join our group or you could make your own justgiving website.
Whilst carrying out This Bike Ride, Bike Safety will be of paramount
importance. Before carrying out the Bike Ride each and everyone of us
have looked through the safety points, and i would recommend you to do
so too. (( http://talesoftheroad.direct.gov.uk/cycling-safety.php)). There are also some Youtube Bike Ride safety video's. Please refer to them also.
Finally, this is just a humble attempt to help other children , and
any donation that myself or you make will go to very good use as can be
seen from our current sponsored school in Rajasthan.
Another Look At Akshaya Patra Foundation
An Introduction to Akshaya Patra
Akshaya Patra - Unlimited Food For Education
Abstracts from the Official Akshaya Patra Booklet:
For Only £10 , a hungry child is fed for a year. For £2,500, an entire
school of children will come out of poverty cycle, will progress, and
will contribute to the growth of our planet.
"give me sunshine, give me a chance to grow up once again!"
Every morning, millions of children in India go to a different school. A
school where they carry heavy bags which have no books. Because for a
hungry child, plates of rice and chapati are more inviting than chapters
from geography and geometry.! A child hungry for food will never be
hungry for school. And, if we can't meet their hunger for bread, they
will never be hungry fir books !
And that's where The Akshaya
Patra Foundation comes in. The world's largest NGO-run school meal
programme, feeding nearly 1.3 million underprivileged children daily in
more than 8200 schools in 19 locations, across 9 states in India.
Akshaya Nidhi - Adopt a School
For Only £10. a hungry child is fed for a year. For £2500 an entire
school is fed for a year. An entire school of children will come out of
poverty cycle, will progress, and will contribute to the growth of our
planet.
Barack Obama - "Your use of efficient and innovative business practices
to scale up in just a few years from feeding 1,500 school children
daily to almost a million is a powerful demonstration of what's possible
when people work together.
